Technical Malfunction Issues

Multiple users report issues with the Dolphin Triton PS, primarily related to movement failures and operational inconsistencies, often despite attempts to troubleshoot and clean the device.

  • Movement Failures: A significant number of users experience the robot moving only a short distance (1-2 feet) before reversing or stopping entirely. This issue is frequently reported, particularly during winter months, and persists even after users have cleaned the device and checked for obstructions.
  • Inconsistent Performance: Users have noted that the robot sometimes climbs walls partially or fully but often fails to clean the entire pool. This inconsistency is reported by multiple users, indicating a potential pattern of malfunction.
  • Electrical and Control Issues: Some users experience problems with the control panel, where only certain buttons illuminate, suggesting possible electrical faults. Reports indicate that the robot may power on without fully functioning.
  • Troubleshooting Attempts: Many users have attempted to troubleshoot by cleaning the basket and checking the impeller motor area for debris, yet these efforts have not resolved the underlying issues.

Power and Charging Issues

Multiple users report issues with the Dolphin Triton PS, primarily related to power supply malfunctions, specifically difficulties in turning on and maintaining power during operation.

  • Power Supply Not Turning On: Users frequently encounter problems where the power supply requires multiple presses of the power button before it activates. This issue is common and indicates potential internal faults or connection issues.
  • Power Supply Shutting Off: Several reports detail the power supply turning on momentarily, with lights blinking for about two seconds before shutting off completely, particularly when the robot is connected. This suggests a possible overload or short circuit when the robot is plugged in.
  • Normal Operation When Unplugged: Users have noted that the power supply remains operational when the robot is not connected, indicating that the issue may stem from the interaction between the robot and the power supply rather than the power supply itself.
  • Troubleshooting Attempts: Many users have attempted troubleshooting by testing voltage outputs and replacing the blue power cable, yet these efforts have not resolved the issues, highlighting a need for further investigation into the power supply or robot’s internal components.

Dolphin Triton PS Pool Cleaner Not Working?

If you're experiencing issues with your Dolphin Triton PS pool equipment, you're not alone. Many users have faced similar challenges and have shared their experiences to help others troubleshoot and resolve these problems.

  1. My dolphis triton is not working. It drives couple feet forward then reverses and drives a couple feet backwards, it does that a few times then stops. I’ve taken it apart. There’s no debris in the impeller motor area. It works maybe ever 1 out of every 5 or 6 tries. Sometimes it climbs half up wall then stops. Sometimes it climbs the whole wall. There’s no algae on the wall. It’s a fiberglass pool. It’s wintertime now in South Carolina so not terribly cold. It’s a salt water pool. I’ve had it for about a year and a half and it just started having these problems this winter. Please advise if anyone can assist. Thanks.

  2. My Triton PS will is having issues with remaining on. As soon as I press the power button on the power supply, the lights blink for about 2 seconds and then completely shuts off. If the robot is not plugged into the power supply, the power supply stays on normally. I have tested voltage from the power supply and also tried changing out the blue power cable from the robot. I really need some help and would appreciate any help.

  3. My just over year old Dolphin Triton PS gets stuck in this move forward a foot or two, then back a foot or two. Not cleaning full pool at all. I’ve cleaned basket and made sure impeller didn’t have any obstructions. Any guesses?

    Thanks,
    Jason
